GETTING STARTED
A simple step-by-step guide covering the basics of the Big Tuna discord fishing bot.
1. Inviting Big Tuna
Invite Big Tuna to a server with this invite link. Ensure you allow all of the requested permissions that Big Tuna requires to function properly.
This same invite link can be found in Big Tuna’s discord profile, top.gg, or even elsewhere on this website.
2. The Quickstart Command
Now with Big Tuna in your server, it's time to start using the bot!
Type .quickstart to pull up the in-game quickstart guide. The next few sections will cover the quickstart in more detail.
3. Fishing
Catch fish by typing .fish, which normally has a cooldown of 75 minutes depending on your rod. Until you reach level 10, there is NO COOLDOWN for fishing, so enjoy it while it lasts!
Most features are restricted until reaching level 10 so you can get used to the game before diving into the more complex parts Big Tuna has to offer.
Once you reach level 10, be sure to check out the Advanced Guide on this website to make sure you don’t miss anything!
4. Aquariums
Aquariums serve as both a personal record book and as a source of income. Each location you unlock has an associated aquarium.
Type .aquarium to view your aquarium, and .collect to collect earned coins. Without any upgrades, the aquarium has a maximum coin capacity of 10. Coins per hour is determined by the fish in your aquarium.
The tier of a fish is simply how large the fish is compared to others of the same species. Tiers, from highest to lowest are SS, S, A, B, C, and D, although it would be very surprising for you to encounter an SS tier fish so early in the game.
5. Upgrading Equipment
If you're particularly unlucky, you may have noticed that your line has snapped when you tried to fish. This is because the maximum weight of your equipment is less than the weight of that fish.
In order to increase your maximum weight, you must upgrade your hook, line, and rod from the shop, accessible with .shop. To buy something, use the .buy command (instructions shown in the shop). Note that your maximum weight is the weakest one out of your hook, line, and rod.
In the shop, you will also see the option to upgrade your aquarium. This will make your aquarium look nicer, increase coin generation, and also increase coin capacity.
Quick tip: always buy the aquarium upgrade when you can. It's worth it.
6. Other Useful Commands
Fish, upgrade equipment, and repeat. You'll know you've reached level 10 when you suddenly have a cooldown for fishing.
Some other commands you should take advantage of are:
.help - brings up a help menu
.help all - full command list
.stats - shows personal stats
.stats @user - view a friend's stats
.leaderboards kg - server leaderboards by weight caught
There is a lot to experience with Big Tuna’s extensive gameplay. With these basics, we look forward to seeing you reach level 10, which is where your fishing journey really gets started!
